Dragon Boat Festival Rice Dumpling Distribution
Before the Dragon Boat Festival, Defond and the Yung Memorial Methodist Social Service jointly held a charity activity to distribute rice dumplings. This public welfare event conveyed care and festive warmth through rice dumplings, helping both volunteers and recipients to experience the strength of the community’s bonds.

The Yung Memorial Methodist Social Service was established in 1967 as a social welfare organization offering diverse services. It covers district-based integrated services and neighborhood centers, community care services, home care services, day care services, caregiver support, and residential care facilities.
The “rice dumplings” activity integrates traditional customs, handicrafts, and community mutual support, reflecting heartfelt care and compassion. Defond team members arrived at Yung Memorial Methodist Social Service. The main hall was filled with the fragrance of rice dumplings, as the rice dumplings handmade overnight by volunteers were neatly packed in insulated containers. The team distributed rice dumplings and festive gifts to elderly residents while organizing interactive activities. The service center director emphasized that every game segment was thoughtfully designed to ensure seniors could participate comfortably.
Elders gathered around tables enjoying rice dumplings together. As people with different life experiences found connection through the traditional food, the influence of traditional culture naturally flowed through these moments. The exchange of care and gratitude creates mutual warmth.

Defond consistently commits to corporate social responsibility, building meaningful connections with community residents through such activities. May the spirit of togetherness this Dragon Boat Festival bring joy and happiness to all. A special thanks to the service center staff for their preparations. We look forward to joining more of these community initiatives, spreading goodwill through our city like the fragrance of rice dumplings during the Dragon Boat Festival.
